Here are some highlights of what the Worship Committee accomplishes each year:
- Provide, prepare, and set-up all Communion elements each month and for special services throughout the year.
- Account for all candles used for worship services, special services, and weddings.
- Order and arrange special flowers and decorations for the sanctuary for church holidays, including Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, and Necrology. This includes the “Hanging of the Greens” each year for Christmas (and un-decorating, too), preparing for Palm Sunday, the Lenten Cross candles and large cross in front of the Sanctuary for Easter with all of the flowers used to decorate it, and preparing the ashes for Ash Wednesday.
- Contact people for Advent Wreath lightings and Lenten Cross items.
- Change the Paraments and Banners to follow the Liturgical Calendar, and change the outside sign.
- Set up and arrange for Ash Wednesday and Thanksgiving dinners and services, Maundy Thursday services, and Easter sunrise service and breakfast.
- Oversee the Music of the church. Host reception at The Music of Christmas and host a Choir Appreciation dessert in the Spring.
